The Admiral's Cup

1647
Thames Street, Baltimore 21231

The Admiral's Cup Restaurant & Bar reopened in October after having been closed for five years.

The Kali's Restaurant Group — the owners of Mezze, Kali's Court, Meli and Tapas Adela — bought the building and completely renovated the interior. The bar sports a seafaring theme, with captain's wheels, rudders and portholes decorating the walls. The banquettes are covered in old sails that have been made into fabric, a pounded tin ceiling, and wood floors.

In February, the Admiral's Cup started serving food. Small plates like crab dip and oysters on the half shell, shrimp salad, a baby scallop New England roll, crab cakes and steamed little neck clams are among the menu items.

It emphasizes locally sourced cuisine from Baltimore's Big City Farms and Roma Gourmet Sausage. Local brews include Heavy Seas Loose Cannon, Flying Dog Pearl Necklace and Brewer's Art Ozzy.

You can hear live music there Wednesday through Saturday.
