Founded in 2008, Localist moved in January to a 1,500-square-foot office in Canton’s the Broom Factory. It moved from the Emerging Technology Center in Canton to the spot  at 3500 Boston St. because the growing company needed more space.

Localist provides a customizable online calendar for universities, businesses and associations. It employs six and is hiring a developer and someone to run customer service. It recently added Johnson and Wales University, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and Baltimore magazine as clients. Columbia College of Chicago, DePaul University and the University of Rhode Island have also relied on Localist for their event listings. 

CEO Mykel Nahorniak and Executive Chairman Nate Mook founded the company.
