Summer's end starts a new era

Dear Bmore Readers,

It was just a little over a year ago that I sat down to write a letter welcoming you to our new online publication, one devoted to highlighting everything great about this city. Now, it's time to introduce a new era for Bmore Media because this is my last issue as managing editor of the site.

I have enjoyed my time at the helm of Bmore more than I can express. It has been an amazing experience, meeting so many people who are passionate about this city, who are motivated to help Baltimore and its residents reach their potential. The entrepreneurs -- both business and social, the neighborhood leaders and residents, the artists and everyone else who work to create the Baltimore of the 21st century. As if that weren't enough, then I was able to bring their stories to you. What a job!

I didn't do it alone, of course. Bmore's amazing editorial team, Julekha Dash, Arianne Teeple and everyone of the freelancers who write for the site, made it all so easy. Thanks for all of your hardwork!

As the saying goes there is a season for everything and I'll expand that to include everyone. While this is the end of my time leading Bmore, I'll stay on as Editor-at-Large, writing a montly feature on the best that Baltimore has to offer. I'm excited to pursue new projects and also remain a part of a site I helped bring to life.

A new managing editor will be named shortly. The new ME will put his or her own stamp on the site and I'm excited to see the direction the site will take.

My biggest thanks go to you, our readers, for your warm reception and response to Bmore over the past year. It was a Baltimore-style welcome at its best. I couldn't have asked for anything better!

The site will be down next week. We'll be back September 14 with another exciting issue!

Cheers for now!
