Arianna Huffington will be there. So will John Waters and Robert Redford. They and many others will be at the
Americans for the Arts Half-Century Summit. The three-day event, held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 25-27, will include several events that are open to the general public.
On Saturday, June 26, from12 noon-8pm, you'll be able to purchase art from regional artisans at the 2010 Americans for the Arts Convention Artists' Market in Harbor East. One-of-a-kind artwork from more than 45 top, local artists will be on sale. In addition, vendors will have demonstrations of their medium or craft. The Artists' Market
is located on the promenade adjacent to the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, located at 700 Aliceanna Street
. The market is free and open to the general public.
The city also celebrates the 30th annual
LatinoFest this weekend. This music filled weekend features live Latin music including salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton, duranguense, mariachi, dancers in colorful costumes from their native lands, bomba and plena performances, salsa dancing and the hottest Latino DJs, Arts and Crafts displays, Latino cuisine from the Americas and the Caribbean, community support information booths and family fun activities such as rock climbing walls, clowns, face-painting, two stages, and much more.
The fun and festivities start Saturday June 26 Noon�10 p.m. and pick up again on Sunday June 27, Noon�9 p.m. in Patterson Park at Eastern and S. Linwood Avenues.
