The Creative Alliance's annual Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival continues in Patterson Park.
The free event takes place this year on Oct. 27, with the parade starting at 7:30 p.m. Parade watchers can get there 30 minutes earlier to find a viewing spot.
This year's theme is Phantasmic Creatures of Earthly Delight and celebrates the imaginary creatures of Patterson Park. Artistic Director Laure Drogoul worked with the community and guest artists to create glowing lanterns and video projections to light up the park's ice skating rink, with performances and installations along the parade route. The event also features hayrides, a costume contest and live music with Barrage Band.
Stay in Highlandtown after the parade for
Glow Ball, the first-ever Halloween parade after-party at
the Creative Alliance. Enjoy "Lantini" cocktails and music from the Raya Brass Band. The costume and dance party starts at 9:30 p.m. and costs $15 for non-members and $10 for members.
