How does a neighborhood's rapid development create tension among area residents and artists? Researchers, developers, artists and community members will explore gentrification, urban revitalization and community development in the
Artists & Neighborhood Change Conference.
The two-day event will take place June 20-21 in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District in Baltimore. The emerging neighborhood
has attracted interest from developers and business owners, offering both opportunities and challenges.
Speakers will include Richard Campanella, a geographer with Tulane University; Joe McNeely, executive director of the Central Baltimore Partnership; Carlo Perlo, director of Dance Place; and, Roberto Bedoya, executive director of the Tuscon Pima Arts Council.
A detailed agenda will be available later this month.
