True Laurels describes itself as a "blog for the wandering mind" that highlights Baltimore's urban culture. "Creatively covering everyday life" is its tagline.
The website is getting an official launch party April 6 at the
Nowchild Soundstage in the Station North Arts and Entertainment District. The free event features performances by local hip-hop acts Rapdragons, Abdu Ali, Eze Jackson and Phoebe Jean and the Air Force.
Visual artists will include
Antonina Clarke, a Maryland Institute College of Art student who uses tapestries and garments to highlight cultural differences.
The
Station North Arts Cafe is catering the event.
True Laurels Founder Lawrence Burney is a Baltimore native and is enrolled in the University of Baltimore's English program with a concentration on professional writing.
