Step OUT: For the Walters' Public Property Exhibit

This time, it wasn't the museum staff that decided what should be on display. It was the public.
The
Public Property exhibit at
the Walters Art Museum included public decision making at every stage, from voting on the theme of the exhibition to choosing which artwork to display. This system of decision-making allows examination of the process of choice and decision-making by individuals, social groups and organizations.
The theme
Creatures was chosen along with 106 works of art. The exhibit ends with a "Creature Feature." You can
vote for your favorite creature flicks, including the
Wizard of Oz and
King Kong.
Public contributions remain a part of
Public Property during its exhibition: participants can post questions, answers and comments about the show to a community bulletin board, where the museum will also post questions for discussion.
The exhibit opened June 17 and runs through August 19.
