Step OUT: For World Refugee Day

The Creative Alliance in Patterson Park plays host to a night of international exploration through film, music and dance for World Refugee Day. The free event takes place Friday, June 22 and begins with a reception and global craft market at 6 pm. The reception celebrates the National Geographic photography exhibit, "Disappearing Islands," which looks at the effects fo the rising water levels on Smith Island.
The night’s lineup also includes the premiere of two documentary shorts made by refugee youth and
Wide Angle Youth Media and a panel discussion focusing on refugee youth resettling in Baltimore. There will also be a performance by Native Ghanaians Kofi Dennis and Kwame Anash-Brew who form Anansegromma, a group that explores the traditional music, storytelling and dances of a typical Ghanaian village.
