A festival celebrating women’s achievements that started in London has made its way across the pond.
WOW Baltimore takes place March 2-4 at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
The three-day event includes a
Baltimore Symphony Orchestra concert featuring Mary Chapin Carpenter and comedienne Rain Pryor. Zumba instruction, a film screening and discussions on everything from women in technology to food and wine are also part of the lineup. Tickets are $10 for a day pass and $20 for weekend admission. Student discounts are available.
Jude Kelly, artistic director of London’s Southbank Centre, founded the WOW – Women of the World – Festival in London. BSO Music Director Marin Alsop was inspired to bring the event to Baltimore after participating in the inaugural conference in London last year. Both women serve as artistic directors of WOW Baltimore.
