Civic Works is making Baltimore City homes more energy efficient and training underemployed young men and women for the next wave of green careers. It plans to service 300 Baltimore homes in the next two years. 

Though it sits just outside the northwest corner of the Beltway, Irvine Nature Center could be a different world -- one in which the city that is in reality only a few miles away might as well not exist at all. Merritt Properties responded to the recent slowdown by taking a different road and doing more in-house work and retraining � they gave their project managers time to learn all they could about green construction, creating a team of experts in LEED Certification.
