And now Dr. Andrew Weil is coming to Baltimore April 14 to serve as the keynote speaker of a
health and wellness conference organized by the University of Maryland School of Medicine's Center for Integrative Medicine. The one-day symposium takes place at the Hilton Baltimore and offers ways in which Western medicine can integrate holistic medicine and wellness into its treatments.
Dr. Weil will discuss his new book "Spontaneous Happiness," which draws on Ayurveda, Buddhism and other Eastern philosophies to treat depression.
Renowned University of Maryland trauma surgeon Dr. Thomas Scalea will lead a session on how to blend humanism with modern medicine. Dr. Stephen Schimpff, the former CEO of the University of Maryland Medical System and Dr. Delia Chiaramonte, director of education at the University of Maryland Center for Integrative Medicine, will discuss the future of healthcare and medicine.
