It might be tempting to call Hippodrome Hatters a "throwback." And to some extent it is. Gone after all are the days when men wore elegant hats as a matter of course. Yet Hippodrome keeps going, providing a sterling example to the rest of us of the value of doing something well and sticking to it.
For this photo essay, Bmore Media Managing Photographer Arianne Teeple visited Hippodrome Hatters to take a peek behind the scenes of a business that has been operating on Downtown's West Side since 1930.
