Established in 1985, the Traffic Group has grown to become one of the nation's leading traffic engineering and transportation planning firms.

The White Marsh company is working on the first diverging diamond interchange in Maryland. With only five operational in the US, the interchange is under construction to handle additional traffic that will come once the Arundel Mills Casino opens later this year. Diverging diamond interchanges allow drivers to make left turns without having to face oncoming traffic, thereby reducing the likelihood of an accident.

The Traffic Group is also working on a conceptual plan and cost estimate for a new rapid transit bus system for Montgomery County. Extending more than 150 miles,  this system would be the largest of its kind in the US. The company is also providing traffic engineering consulting to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which is scouting for a new headquarters in Maryland.

Several new client wins helped the company grow to 85 employees, resulting in 22 new hires. The new clients include the Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council, Texas Department of Transportation and Arkansas State Highway Transportation Department.
