Photo Essay: Backstage Pass to the Baltimore Improv

If you've ever lived in the Windy City, you might know something about spending a night at the Improv. Chicago's Second City -- the former stomping ground for many "Saturday Night Live" cast members -- and "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" are two popular troupes in this town known for its rich selection of independent theater.

But you don't need to hop on a plane to catch actors ad-libbing. Formed eight years ago, the Baltimore Improv Group is presenting "Unscripted" at Woodberry's Mobtown Theater at Meadow Mill next month. Bmore Media Managing Photographer Arianne Teeple took photos of the actors rehearsing.

Laura Wexler and Jessica Henkin from Stoop Storytelling, burlesque artists Viola Van Wilde and Chanteuse L'autrec, and Baltimore Improve Group founder Mike Subelsky will make appearances. Performances run the first three weekends in March.
