Lifeclip was founded last year by Richard Keith Latman as a young, rapidly growing, mobile photo-sharing social network that hopes to give Instagram a run for its money.

Employees of the Hunt Valley company say they were once all Instagram users who felt the service had limited features and could perform better. When Facebook acquired Instagram, Lifeclip founders became concerned with what would be done with users' personal data, and worried about an invasion of privacy.

Latman and his team then decided to build their own mobile photo sharing social network from scratch. 

The 10-person firm says it won't share user data with third parties or show display ads and hopes to combine the best features of Instagram, Twitter & Facebook in a single app.

The company is currently hiring developers to improve its iPhone app and develop an  Android and a web version of its service.
