An apprenticeship at the salon where her mother got her hair done launched Jill Turnbull's career.
She quickly knew that hair was her passion. When she moved to the Baltimore area 21 years ago, she started styling hair and makeup for photo shoots. A year ago, she opened No Worries Salon
in downtown Towson’s commercial district.
The salon is adding a second floor VIP suite this month where clients will receive individualized serviced from Turnbull. The expansion will add 500 square feet to a total of 2,000 square feet.
Baltimore magazine named it Best Color Salon in 2011. The U.S. Commerce Association recently named it the best in the makeup and cosmetics application category.
A native of Great Britain, Turnbull and her family moved to Australia where she was raised. She has more 35 years experience in the beauty industry working as a stylist, international educator and entrepreneur.
Turnbull recently styled the “Welcome Kwame” award-winning campaign for Centerstage. The 2011 ads celebrated the theater’s hiring of British Artistic Director Kwame Kwei-Armah. The salon owner consults for Schwarzkopf Professional and Unite and counts the Washington Ballet Co., Fila and many celebrities among her clients.
