Founded in 1976, Structural is a specialty engineering firm that marries construction, repair and maintenance services with proprietary technologies.
 
Headquartered in Hanover, the company employs 2,500 in 15 states. It also has an office in the U.K. and several in the Middle East. It employs 350 in the Baltimore/Washington area.
 
Structural relies on technology to provide infrastructure to protect structures, products and processes for concrete restoration.

The company’s clients include the Jacksonville Electric Authority, which is using Structural’s proprietary technology to reduce the amount of rust that develops on its energy cooling towers.

It won an $8 million award to protect the garage and ramps for the building to replace the World Trade Center in Manhattan and a $4 million award to protect the garage at the General Services Administration building on Parklawn Drive in Rockville. It is relying on its proprietary technology called Ducon to protect the parking facilities from terrorist blasts. It is using the same technology to protect the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services building in Bethesda. 

Structural has also performed work on behalf of Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater.
