A College Kids' Guide to Baltimore
Stephanie Delman
Tuesday, August 31, 2010
It's that back-to-school time of year with colleges and universities around the city welcoming the class of 2014. It's hard enough for new students to find their way around campus, much less around a new city. So, we've come up with a guide that'll help the newbies -- and even returning students -- get around town to grab a bite or have some fun.

It's happening in Bmore! July 20-26
Tuesday, July 20, 2010
Now that Artscape has come and gone, it's time to focus your attention on other artistic pursuits. There's Whartscape, of course, but if you'd like to try something with air conditioning step on over to the BSO as the orchestra celebrates two sons of Baltimore -- Frank Zappa and Philip Glass -- while showcasing Baltimore beatboxer, Shodekeh. We've also compiled a list of the areas outdoor movie venues for those who love watching great flicks under the stars.

Building Up Baltimore -- Martin Millspaugh
Monday, November 02, 2009
More than 25 years ago the Baltimore's redeveloped Inner Harbor area was the beginning of a new era for Downtown Baltimore. The Urban Land Institute honored Baltimore's Inner Harbor with its prestigious Heritage Award. The award, bestowed periodically on developments that have demonstrated industry excellence and made substantial contributions to their community's well-being for at least 25 years, has been given only 8 times in the past 35 years. Martin Millspaugh, who led the effort to create the Inner Harbor, talks about the development, the award and Baltimore.

That's So Bmore: Why We Love This Charmed City
Nicole Jovel
Friday, August 14, 2009
Every city has something that sets it apart. New York oozes sophistication. In D.C. it's all about influence and power. New Orleans, on the other hand, has a relaxed, laissez-faire attitude. This is the first in a series in which we'll look at things that make Baltimore so Baltimorish -- the things that lure in new residents, compel those who live here to stay and keep former inhabitants longing for home.
