When Ray Weiss and Jessica Trzyna started their public relations firm in 2008, they had only one question: What are they thinking?
With the economy crashing down around them and each day bringing more bad news from Wall Street, the duo decided to keep their nose to the grindstone, focus on the work, and stop paying attention to the daily dose of bad economic news.
Today, they’re glad they did. Starting with a half dozen clients,
Weiss PR Associates Inc. has grown steadily, tripling its client base while adding two additional senior PR executives. The company’s client roster now includes SECU Credit Union, Rubeling & Associates, the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Foundation, the Traffic Group and others.
Weiss recently handled PR for virtual reality goggles developed by Columbia-based Sensics at the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and the introduction of new pretzel flavor combinations via a national blog campaign created for Snyder’s of Hanover.
The firm has also expanded its public affairs portfolio, creating outreach campaigns regarding proposed federal legislation to impose limits on flexible spending account contributions and to increase the cap on credit union member business lending. Internationally, the firm supported one of its trade association clients testifying before the World Health Organization in Geneva.
